Sword & Saga Press
At Sword & Saga Press our commitment is to our readers. Besides sourcing works of fiction from across the globe, we offer a place to talk books. We think of our press as the coliseum, the open fire, the desert range, the place to connect you with fiction that resonates a sense of nostalgia for the old days, while at the same time offering a view of the future.

American Athenaeum: Compassion/ Community/Environment/Endangered Species
Featuring short stories, poetry, and essays that deal with human compassion and community. From the Old Ways to mindfulness, from prayer in the convent to meditation walks on the open range, we're seeking your stories on healing, faith and compassionate living. We are particularly interested in stories that begin from one faith or perspective and then cross presupposed boundaries to access a common humanity, rejecting insular thinking and behaviors. We are also interested in stories that are themselves vehicles for compassionate thinking--stories that focus on characters often shelved by society out of fear or discomfort and that illustrate new ways to see the humanity of those in the periphery. In essence, we are looking for stories that convey fresh attitudes about compassionate living, that define compassion not as a symptom of a weak conviction but as a mark of intelligence and strength of character.
Also accepting stories that deal with the environment, nature, animals. See blog for further details.
American Athenaeum: General Fiction/Japan Tributes/Historical/Doorstep Activist
